The journey up wasn&#8217;t as swift as we&#8217;d have liked&#8230; but we arrived at around 6, loaded in and began the soundcheck.</p><p>The Georgian Theatre is a stone&#8217;s throw from the river Tees in Stockton. The gig was promoted by Steve and Barry from Big Figure Promotions. They both ensured we were all well looked after from start to finish.</p><p>As well as Liz Lawrence, we also had support from <a href="http://www.sus2.co.uk">sus2</a> - a local band &#8211; with bags of support and enthusiasm.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Again &#8211; after the set, there was a big queue formed to speak to both Colin and Calum. Thanks to David and all of the staff at the Music Room for their hospitality. This was followed by a swift wander around the harbour-side, then off to the venue.</p><p>The Cellars in Eastney is a bijou venue, not far from the Water&#8217;s Edge &#8211; appropriate given the title of the first track on the new <a title="EP:2" href="http://www.colinvearncombe.com/music/ep-2/">EP 2</a>. There was a classic rock band gigging in the afternoon, but our load in followed this.</p><p>Dinner was due to the strains of the QPR &#8211; Wigan match on the TV in the pub followed by the soundcheck. The first night of the tour meant a slightly longer soundcheck than usual. Calum has some new goodies on his pedal board, and we&#8217;re using a new 2 &#8211; channel DI for Colin&#8217;s guitars.</p><p>The support on this tour is once again <a href="http://www.lizlawrencemusic.com" target="_blank">Liz Lawrence</a>. She has had a bit of a trek to make it to Eastney. Saturday night saw her playing the  <a href="http://www.musicvcancer.com" target="_blank">Music V Cancer</a> weekender in Hartlepool &#8211; curated by our friend Tony Larkin.</p><p>Then came the set itself &#8211; which I won&#8217;t go into detail about, so not as to spoil it for anyone else joining us later on the tour. Here&#8217;s a few pictures from the evening:<br /> <object width="400" height="300" classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0"><param name="flashvars" value="offsite=true&amp;lang=en-us&amp;page_show_url=%2Fphotos%2Fcvblack%2Fsets%2F72157633195488308%2Fshow%2F&amp;page_show_back_url=%2Fphotos%2Fcvblack%2Fsets%2F72157633195488308%2F&amp;set_id=72157633195488308&amp;jump_to=" /><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /><param name="src" value="http://www.flickr.com/apps/slideshow/show.swf?v=124984" /><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><embed width="400" height="300" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://www.flickr.com/apps/slideshow/show.swf?v=124984" flashvars="offsite=true&amp;lang=en-us&amp;page_show_url=%2Fphotos%2Fcvblack%2Fsets%2F72157633195488308%2Fshow%2F&amp;page_show_back_url=%2Fphotos%2Fcvblack%2Fsets%2F72157633195488308%2F&amp;set_id=72157633195488308&amp;jump_to=" allowFullScreen="true" allowfullscreen="true" /></object><br /> I was around to record and film a few bits from the gig, and am happy what I came away with.
