Wonderful Life Re-Issue

Universal re-issue Wonderful Life as a 2CD set.

Originally released in 1987 on 12” vinyl and as a 15-track CD, Wonderful Life was an international success. Buoyed by the hits Sweetest Smile, Everything’s Coming up Roses and the perennial classic; Wonderful Life, the album stayed high in popular music charts around the world, gaining critical acclaim and some say even ‘cult’ status.

As reported by the Blacklist in October last year, this spring sees Universal Music release of an extended edition of the hugely successful debut album.

250WLBlack

The Special 2-CD edition comprises the full original album plus a second disc of 11 bonus tracks, including the original ‘Ugly Man’ version of Wonderful Life.

The album’s liner notes include a specially commissioned interview with Colin.

What happened to the bbc radio sessions that were originally planned for this reissue? The second seems a bit light for me. It would have been nice to fill the disc right up like disc 1. Oh well.
really liking the new EPs and and the new website.
Keep up the good work!

Love the look of the new website :-)

I’m really enjoying the “Wonderful Life” reissue the Album sounds as great as ever and brings back so many happy memories singing along to it in my teenage years..
I also hope to hear the Janice Long Session tracks that were planned for this reissue, perhaps they will turn up sometime in the future.
“I’m Not Afraid” had a 12″ version, that would’ve been great to include also :-)
Great to hear Colin’s version of events whilst recording this Album with Dave Dix..
Could you tell me where Sometimes (Echo Bass and Sax) & Everything’s (The Fairly Mental Mix) on which format they were originally released..
I had only heard “Birthday Night” until fairly recently from youtube so to hear it in cd quality is a real treat, as are all the fabulous b-sides.
Are there any plans to release your WEA recordings onto CD I love all those tracks :-)
Fingers crossed for “Comedy” and “Black” now.
I’m coming to see you live on the 21st April can’t wait :-)
